Frequently Asked Questions and Answers

For participation in sports activities organized by Bovec Sport Center, we expect you as a client to be psychologically and physically healthy, and in the event of possible health issues, please consult with our staff as to whether or not participation is advisable.

Our trained experienced guides will accompany you on all water activities in order to ensure a safe and quality excursion. All our guides regularly update their training and further their education to guarantee your greatest enjoyment as you experience the Bovec region. Due to the dynamic nature of situations that occur on the ground, in keeping with our commitment to safety, our guides have the authority to adjust your activities based on the current conditions and your abilities. These actions are, but not limited to, changing the venue, postponing your activity to another time or day, and in the most extreme cases, cancelling the activity.

We conduct our activities in all weather conditions, as long as the safety of the participants is not affected.

In any case, we recommend that you have personal health and accident insurance for extreme outdoor sports.

Additional information about sports activities

For all water activities, it is required that the participant knows how to swim. Water activities are suitable for complete beginners as the guide will instruct you in the basics prior to the activity and will continue to give instruction and direction as you participate in the activity on the river.

Rafting

What do I bring?
Swimsuit, towel and dry clothing into which you will change upon completion of your trip, soft drinks, snacks.
What is provided?
Protective neoprene suit, anorak, neoprene shoes, helmet and personal flotation device.

Rafting is suitable for complete beginners, as swimming and a sense of how to function in a natural environment do not require technical proficiency. Prior to your rafting descent of the Soca, our guide will explain how the trip will proceed and how to paddle and behave in order that your trip will be safe and fun. Young children also may participate. In these cases in order to ensure maximum safety, the guide in cooperation with the parents will decide what section of the river is suitable for the children. It is possible for children to participate in a portion of the activity then exit the raft before the more demanding sections. In this case, our driver will pick up the children and transport them to the finish of the descent to await you. The only prerequisite is the ability to swim!

Kayaking

What do I bring?
Swimsuit, towel and dry clothing into which you will change upon completion of your trip, soft drinks, snacks.
What is provided?
Protective neoprene suit, anorak, neoprene shoes, helmet, personal flotation device, and if needed spray skirt.

Kayaking by nature requires more active involvement because you are alone in a boat that you must paddle and steer. The guide is with you in the group, and prior to your descent will explain the basics for a safe and fun trip down the Soca. We use inflatable open kayaks in our trips because they are more stable and provide greater safety. If you are already an experienced kayaker, you can agree with your guide to use a closed, plastic kayak. Children can accompany a guide in a two-seater open kayak. The condition for participation is the ability to swim.

Hydrospeed

What do I bring?
Swimsuit, towel and dry clothing into which you will change upon completion of your trip, soft drinks, snacks.
What is provided?
Protective neoprene suit, anorak, neoprene shoes, swim fins, helmet, and personal flotation device.

Hydrospeed is a physically and psychologically demanding activity as you are swimming in the rapid and frigid Soca, which, for the less prepared participant, is simply too demanding. This activity is not suitable for children. It provides the most direct contact with the river, which will be imprinted in your memories. Prerequisites for participation are the ability to swim and snorkeling experience.
